Obligatory and necessary... Jaws (1975)
In my opinion, the best and most perfect scary movie. May be my favorite. It's success made even more incredible due all the "bad luck" and painful obstacles the production suffered. This is also the movie, having only glimpsed as a child, that had me to be terrified of pools and bathtubs for years. I wouldn't watch another scary movie until my early 20s.
